Advanced Gymnastics – Silver 8yo – 16yo

Silver Program

Springers Silver and Teen Silver has been developed for children aged 8 – 16 years old.

Classes are divided by age and level accordingly.

The program progresses Gymnasts who have experience, through to more advanced skills in a fun, positive and encouraging environment. The program combines structured activities with the focus on Dominant Movement Patterns (DMP). The Dominant Movement Patterns are Spring, Rotation, Statics, Landings, Locomotion and Swing. These DMP’s have been developed to assist in the sound physical development.

The program offers a great environment and allows gymnasts to progress at their own rate, whilst maintaining a strong emphasis on fun and goal setting. In the silver level gymnasts combine skills together in a advanced gymnastics setting. Gymnasts must have ticked off all basic and intermediate skills before moving into the silver level and demonstrate readiness for the program. Gymnasts will learn skills on the trampoline and foam pit to assist in technique and safe development. Gymnasts will spend time during the session developing their strength, conditioning, and flexibility.

Gymnasts are offered in house competitions twice per year as well as Gym Star competitions within Gymnastics Victoria’s Gym Star setting. For gymnasts to be eligible for Gym Star Competitions they must attend the Silver Program twice per week, at least in Term 2 and Term 3.

Gymnasts often enter the silver program from the Competitive Program. As the Silver program is less demanding than the National Competitive Program.

Silver classes are 2 hours in duration.
